My family

My name is Percy Pinto.  I have a wife and 3 kids.  My wife is in business, my son is doing his engineering and my twin girls are studying.  I was born and brought up in Bangalore.  I initially stayed in Ashok Nagar (near the Football Stadium), then we moved to Victoria Layout, then we built our house in Indiranagar.  Indiranagar was earlier known as Binnamangala.  When Nijalingappa was the CM, Indira Gandhi had visited Binnamangala to inaugurate the soldiers memorial in the Park opposite present BDA Complex.  On that day, to honour the visit of Indira Gandhi, Binnamangala was renamed as Indiranagar!!  I will post a picture of our house that was being constructed in Indiranagar 1st Stage, then you can see how Indiranagar was with very few houses in that area !!

Improve city, town and village infrastructure

The Government that we elect is supposed to take care of the basic needs of the citizens. However, very often we find them fighting between themselves or pilfering tax payers money to fulfill their greed. They enter politics just to fill up their pockets. For e.g., in India today, modern technology is used to make good roads. However the purpose is defeated - as soon as a new road is laid, government departments (Water, Electricity, Telephone) and nowadays private telephone companies dig up the road again. After the road is laid, the BBMP decides to - widen the road, provide shoulder drains, walkways thereby wasting precious money again. Why dont they think much ahead and get all things done rather than putting the cart before the horse?

In companies, each employee has to perform, his performance is tracked, then is rewarded. There is a completion timeframe for any activity and the employee is expected to keep his managers updated regularly on meeting his goals. This method ensures that the employee is on track, guided to ensure goals are met and corrective measures are in place in case of failures. Why cannot think tanks involve and engage themselves actively to ensure the politicians are monitored, tracked and they deliver the results as per expectations? In the Gulf, road projects are entrusted to reputed International Consultants and the results are amazing. There is no disruption of traffic and the public are not tortured. The public in India have to bear the torture that is meted out to them in the name of Metro, Flyover etc....
